INFORMATION 
The Babylonian Empire was the most powerful state in the ancient world after the fall of the assyrian  empire 612 BCE. Its capital  Babilon was beautifully adorned by king Nebuchadnezzar, who erected several famous buildings. Even after the Babylonian Empire had been overthrown by the Persian king Cyrus the Great 539, the city itself remained an important cultural center.

ZIGURATS


A Zigurat is a  mesopotamian temple which has a tower or pyramid shape.Its design goes from a simple base whith a temple at the top to amazing  buildings.
The Zigurats  homed some priests and other people who administrated the city

The most famous Zigurat was the Babel Tower.  They built this tower with the hope of it reaching the sky.

 he was the Sumerian and Akkadian Hero who was two thirds God

He was a bit of a bully in bull form, with lots of bellowing, roaring and raping

 he was the Top Sky God, Lord of Heaven and Supreme Manager of all the other Gods

She was the Fabulous Goddess of Words, Language, Syntax and Meaning

she was a Dragon-God consort of  TIAMAT

prehistoric art

FIRST QUESTIONThe first forms of art were extremely primitive.Prehistoric people represented their world and believes through images.Art started with the homo sapiens in Africa,Europe,Asia,Oceania and America.Engravings and later pottery reveal not only a quest for beauty but also  complex  social systems and spiritual concepts.
The painting needed a more elaborated and complex technology that the simple outline of a stone   They  used natural colourings of yellow, red tones, ocres and black, with all his ranges and tones.  In the Neolithic the white was added. The colourings were coming from oxides of iron and manganese, from lands and charcoals, red ochre, hematíes, limonita, kaolin, etc, diluted in blood, resins of trees, animal fats and vegetable juices.They used to paint in caves and shelters, only some special persons could paint,the  chamans  or simillar people

ALTAMIRA



Altamira  is a cave in Cantabria (Spain) famous for its upper paleolithic cave paintings featuring drawings and polychrome rock paintings of wild mammals and human hands.
Its special relevance comes from the fact that it was the first cave in which prehistoric cave paintings were discovered. When the discovery was first made public in 1880, it led to a bitter public controversy between experts which continued into the early 20th century

RIVER THAMES

The River Thames  flows through southerm England. 
It is the longest river entirely in England



and the  second longest on the United Kingdom, behind the River Severn.  Thames is best known because it passes through central London, the river   also passes alongside  other towns and cities for instantce Oxford, Reading,  Henley-on-Thames, Windsor, Kingston upon Thames and Richmond.
The river gives its name to several geographical and political entities, as,for instance,Thames Valley , Thames Gateway, Thames Estuary etc.The river lasts for 215 miles(346km)and is born at Thames Head in Gloucestershire and it goes to the North sea on the Thames Estuary via London.
